Our sweet Chase passed away today. He was our Valentine's Day puppy, he and Kika were my Valentine's Day present when I was 6 months pregnant with Jack, and the best present I could ever get. Chase was 2 when he came to us, he was raised in a kennel with a domineering boxer, he always hated boxers because of this.
I have always been so grateful that we adopted Chase, he needed us, we needed him, and are probably some of the few that put up with his crazy. He had severe separation anxiety for years. When left for short periods of time he managed to once clog the sink and turn it on in the downstairs bathroom, rip down the shower curtain and chew it up, and chew up the toilet seat, in about 30 minutes:)
Another time he tore out the curtain in the living room leaving a big hole in the wall, dragged the entertainment center with tv to the middle of the room, the couch to the opposite side of the room and ate 4 plants, in about 1 hour:)
He managed to chew through 4 crates and completely destroy a chain link kennel, he filed his teeth down after these escapades, and in the mean time between containers he would come to work with me, sleep under the desk and never even notice my clients:)
But when we were near there couldn't be a more loving dog. He was best friends with Kika, loved Coco when Kika didn't allow cats to touch the ground, and when we adopted Winter they became instantaneous best friends, wrestling, cleaning each other and sleeping cuddled next to each other. He always wanted to be close and petted and loved. Jack loved having Chase sleep with him in bed at night, Sophie always cuddled him, and even Annabelle who has not been the biggest dog lover has grown a soft, loving and caring side for him the last few months.
Good bye our sweet boy who never knew how to chase a ball but sure did know how to give us a chase.
We love you
